The modernisation of society introduces individualism and moves us away from the solidarity that once existed and was practiced in a community manner. The young people, instead of grouping within small communities taking care of themselves, they tuen their attention to the state which does everything for them. But the state does not have the means to satify the needs/wishes of everyone, it is imperative that we reinvent the voluntary particpation and promote it.
The young people who come together through JHL International agree to work for a life based on social justice and solidarity, which is necessary for harmonious development.
JHL International includes young people in all its actions to make them aware that society’s construction lies with everyone. Young people have to understand that you don’t really need a lot of money to help. It is enough to put a bit of your time and energy at the disposal of others to make things better. The fact that young people take part in community actions leads them to have more respect for the common good, as they won’t want to destroy what they themselves have created.
The organisation of voluntary camps plays a big role in the implementation of young people in voluntary actions: young people are the driving force of society.
Throughout the construction camps for public interest (public toilets, health clinics, public libraries, schools, markets) young people have the chance to lend a helping hand, which is very much appreciated. In addition, the young people from the places where this construction is taking place, seeing these young volunteers coming from other places to work for their wellbeing, will be inclined to sign up as future volunteers.
